When the world temperature rises only one Degrees

Thereare a lot of things you can do under the blistering sun for this summer. When we talk about the rising temperature, we think about an airconditioned room, a fancy bathing suit and a beach. But what to do if the world temperature rises by one degrees as the literal meaning does not mean the seasonal temperature change but the average world temperature that will only keep rising.

What we have witnessed these days are a series of natural phenomenon. One thing leads to another as a chain that links. Glazier and ice sheets in the Arctic are melting the scarcity are sinking due to the mounting sea level. Coral reef bleaching is another phenomenon linked to global warming as wel as flooding, wildfire, food shortage, plague and negative mutation in disease-carrier insects and bugs living in warm climate area. In 2003, Europe experienced the severest heat wave in 150 years that killed about 40,000 people.

What is then exactly the cause of global warming? 90% comes from man-made greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect, if in the right amount, has its merits in keeping the balanced temperature in the planet. If too much, the Infrared rays cannot get through the ozone which results in the accumulating heat in the earth atmosphere. Other infrared absorbers include methance, CFC, nitrous oxide but the significant absorber is carbon dioxide. 90% of the infrared radiation emission is man-made activities i.e. fossil fuel burning. 40% of the CO2 production comes from the industrial sector, 31% from household electricity consumption, 22% from transportation and 4% from the agricultural sector. The world’s 5 sountries with the highest carbon emissions are the US, China, Russia, India and Japan.
