Music is sound but not every sound is music. A sound occurs when the air is vibrated and travels through our ears. Music happens after this process. Human race knows music since the ancient time. A bone flute was discovered during the Stone Age, which is approximately about 35,000 year old. The Egyptians called music as the medicine to the soul. Dating back t the Ancient Greek period 2,000 years ago, people used music as a form of therapy to ward off evil spirit that caused illness.

Among other branches of art, music is the one kind that can enter human soul without translation. A Canadian psychiatrist Sandra Drehub conducted an experiment in which an infant was played music to. She found out that there is a musical pattern implanted in human brain. A French doctor, Alfred Tomatis better known as 'Einstein in Sound', a long-time researcher on sound therapy and founder of Tomatis Institute famous for sound therapy, discovered that a fetus has a hearing capability and can respond to the sound. The ear organ starts to develop at 10 weeks old.

Dr. Tomatis is one of the very first few people who encouraged a mother to communicate with her baby through sounds, story-telling, signing, talking and playing nice music.

The backbone structure of music is beat which is equivalent to a human heart beat. 70bpm (beat per minute) is the best beat to help a body relaxes such as classical music of Mozart or Chopin while 100-120bpm will stimulate the body and the mind on healthy level and 120bpm will stimulate the body that you need to get up and dance. A tree will grow in a more orderly fashion if you play classical music to it while that is the opposite case for rock music.
